My cousin Lauren and her three year old son came down from Alexandria to hang out with us and so we had extra small kids (along with the nieces and nephews already there) to make it even more fun.
And, of course, as you do at all social gatherings lately, we played Cards Against Humanity and made ourselves laugh so hard that it caused physical pain. It was really fun to see everyone and spoil the kids with lots of stuff. On the way to Richmond, we were supposed to fly on a tiny plane from Washington DC to Richmond and there was so much fog in the area that they were going to have to use extra fuel and the plane would be too heavy. I am pretty sure this was due to the amount of presents in our suitcases as we brought minimal clothes but maximal presents. After a final offer of $400 per person, I couldn't resist and said that my mom, dad, and I would get off and take a van to Richmond- we now have $1200 on United- WAHOO! It was a few extra hours but I can't resist travel deals.
After 5 days in Richmond, we came back to Colorado and I got to see a lot of my peeps! Of course, I developed a wicked cold (does the Pope wear a funny hat?) but I powered through with my super hoarse, phone-sex-operator-voice and almost deaf ears- to reunite with some very special people in my life.
